All men over 18 are required to carry muskets.

(March) The General Court passes the law due to fears of Native American attacks due to the Pequot War. The ordinance requires adult men to carry muskets “furnished with match, powder, and bullets.” But the court orders some men to surrender their weapons in November 1637.*
